Arguably the best tasting of all bananas of Hawaii, with other common names: 'Cenizo' of Central America and the West Indies; 'Krie' of the Philippines, is a relative of 'Bluggoe'. When given proper care it grows to 10 or 15 ft, the fruit is 7 to 9 inches long, and up to 2 1/2 inches thick,. Fruits are bluish with a silvery cast when young, pale yellow when ripe, The flesh is white, sweetish, and tastes like vanilla ice cream and has the consistency of a custard, unlike the firm bananas we purchase in grocery stores. Often produces banana heads weighing 25 lbs. A must have for all!!!!! |
