Sunburst is commercially recognized as a Tangerine, this cultivar is a hybrid of the Robinson Tangerine and Osceola Tangelo. It was first released in 1979 and became moderately popular in the 1980's. The cultivar produces large crops, consistently. Fruit quality is excellent. Fruits mature from November to December. Due to its consistent, high quality fruit taste and production, Sunburst is the most widely planted mandarin hybrid in the world. This is the variety the California Corporation, Sunkist sells all over the United States. The tree grows to 20 feet and is bushy. We recommend this fruit tree to anyone. It can be grown indoors and will reach a height of 6-8 feet. |
